Sculpture course in France

For many years, we have organised a sculpture course at Les Gonies in the autumn in collaboration with Els de Quaasteniet. A 6-day course for people from the area, or for anyone who wants to combine their holidays with a creative week.

Programma

We start Sunday at 9.30 am with a detailed explanation of form and image aspects. Els will bring in a theme. From this, ideas for an image will follow, and you will get to work! You work at your own pace and the emphasis of the lessons is in the morning. In the afternoon, you can continue working until 5 p.m., but there is also plenty of room for an excursion or other time activities.

Jos is the creative cook and takes care of the inner man with a warm, extensive lunch, using Les Gonies’ organic produce as much as possible. Friday at the end of the week, we conclude with a small festive exhibition where guests are very welcome. Afterwards, there is a communal meal.

Sculpture

Els de Quaasteniet has been giving sculpture classes for more than 20 years under the name buiteninbeeld.nl. Her own work can be viewed on the website under this name. The course is for beginners and advanced students and can be worked in stone or wood. All tools for this are provided, except the material itself, i.e. stone or wood. For beginners, it is advisable to consult with Els. There are different types of stone, hard and soft, which you can buy at sculpture shops. If you want to work with wood, please let us know, because of material and tools. What is handy to buy is your own dust goggles. Feel free to bring photos of your own work and/or books by your favourite sculptor! W e work entirely outdoors, fun of doing is paramount.

Cost

This week includes coffee, tea, lunch and Friday night dinner!!!

The cost is €475,- p.p.
